Canada, this forum is based in the United Kingdom, so some of our solutions may be a bit different.

Your downloading speed from the internet will generally be governed by your internet service speeds, and the server connections. For most peopel a wireless using 808.11g speeds will vastly exceed the internet speed and is thus more than adequate. Yes 808.11b speeds at only 11Mbps is a bit limiting, since wireless may well not achieve the full speed due to distance and interference.

Of course, if you are mainly concerned about speed of transfer of data within your own network, from PC to PC, then a wire is going to be your best bet.
