Not really. The vista security system was in an early beta. All it required was for companies to actually test that their software worked with it.

And, TBH, some software (particularly games) has trouble running on non-admin accounts under XP. Bearing mind that XP uses the same security restrictions that NT used from the early 90s, there really is bo excuse..
