NTL Value Packs

Just wanted to see if anyone was aware of these?

I currently pay for my ntl services as separate items - on the same bill, but separate. Phone, 4mb BB, Family Pack TV.

I have heard that there is a so-called "value package" available, but not necessarily to existing customers. http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/valuepacks

Does any one of any similar packs/pricing scales that have 4mb BB, Family Pack and Phone for anything less than £55 (thats what Im paying currently) - not to mention the £30 for 2 extra boxes!!

Ta!

Re: NTL Value Packs

Even if you take things as a pack, chances are your bill will still list the services and pricing separately. Some items may however not have a price against them.

However there is nothing to stop you calling CS and asking if there is a cheaper tarrif that you should be on, especially if you haven't changed your services for some time. You won't get new customer deals though.

The unscrupulous have in the past suggested to ntl that you threaten to leave and then retentions might get to you and offer an incentive to stay. I'd call such tactics unethical and if you went for such brinksmanship you'd better be prepared to genuinely leave.

Re: NTL Value Packs

Value packs are available to new and existing customers.

If you take a value pack the items will be listed as full price on the bill, then a value pack discount of the appropriate amount will be applied.

The best value pack for you is Family Pack, Talk Unlimited and 4meg BB for £49.99 ... ok it's only a fiver off what you pay now, but it's better than nothing... plus you may be saving money on the phone if you are not on TU at the moment.

I have that package but I only pay £44.99??? At least that's what I was told - I'm waiting for my bill to come through.

Ta!

So:

ntl: 4Mb BB - £24.99
ntl: Family TV - £19.50
ntl: Phone - £10.50
ntl: Extra box 1 - £15.00
ntl: Extra box 2 - £15.00

Total - £84.99

You could get:

ntl: 4MB + Family TV + Talk Unlimited - £49.99
ntl: Extra box 1 - £15.00
ntl: Extra box 2 - £15.00

Total - £79.99 (Not Much of a Saving but Better phone pack)

Or

ntl: 4MB + Talk Unlimited - £34.99
SKY 6 Mix - £21.00
SKY Extra box 1 - £10.00
SKY Extra box 2 - £10.00

Total - £75.99

or leave ntl: Completely and

TalkTalk 3International + 8MB broadband - £20.99
SKY 6 Mix - £21.00
SKY Extra box 1 - £10.00
SKY Extra box 2 - £10.00

Total - £61.99

Or phone up retentions saying you could get everything elsewhere for £61.99 and see what they offer you to stay.

...and ntl: wonder why they are losing customers.

Re: NTL Value Packs

If I were to opt for the Value Pack as advertised at £49.99, then decided to add premium channels like the "Sky Sports Pack" at a later date, would the total cost be £49.99 plus the cost of the SSPack (£15.50)??

See, this is what Im thinking of doing so - just wanting to know if anyone had any clues!

Oh, and Ive also emailed ntl to ask if there are any current offers! To date (1day later) - no reply!

Might have to give them a call!!

Also, tell me this - is this end of customer services outsourced to India?

Re: NTL Value Packs

Just rang NTL a few minutes ago!

To my surprise, they were able to put me on that pack straight away - so a saving of around £5 - £6 - better off in my pocket!!

Also enquired about adding the SS Pack in the future - very helpful guy said that it'll not affect the new pack, but just added to the price of the pack.

Surprised even more when I realised that Id got through to Scotland and not India!! AND it was immediate!!

Anyone else notice reduction in call times??

ickle is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: NTL Value Packs

call times have reduced cos more staff have been taken on...the call centres are in Belshill (scotland), Wythensawe (England) and Swansea (Wales). In the one i work queues of 100+ which was quite often at christmas at the moment are gone....partly cos of the nice weather but also because of a massive recrutiment drive
