Problems Cancelling NTL

I have 2 accounts. One for the broadband which I wish to keep and one which is for the tv and telephone. They are at the same address but under different names. Why u ask..

Well the sales guy (obviously behind on his target so treated me as a new account) said I couldn't put tv and telephone on the same account as my bb and said to put it in my wifes name but I still pay the bill.

He said that it was just a name change but the account is still under me at the same address.

Now that I want to cancel the tv and telephone (worse service ever! imo) and keep the bb (very good service) they can't because they need to speak to the account holder (my wife).

I change packages, pay the bills and discuss them every month when they are wrong on the tv and telephone but when i wish to cancel I can't. Is this a simply excuse to keep there already ailing customer base or are they right?.

My wife has since sent a letter to ntl asking them to cancel the tv and telephone but they havent received it!. I think this going to be a nightmare!
