Best way to cancel NTL Broadband

Hi,
I've had NTL broadband for about 3 years now, and it's been trouble-free. Only had one loss of connection in that time, and the engineer came out the next day when he said he would to fix it.

However, I'm moving house in 2 week's time to an area with no NTL service, so I need to cancel.

Any ideas on the best way to do this? Phone/email/letter? I seem to have a complete lack of information from NTL on how to do this. I don't object to paying to return the modem or paying up for the required notice period, but I would like it to be sorted our on the day I move. (Having read some other posts - it appears that cancellation can be tricky....)

Any advice much appreciated.
James.

Should be a case of -
1. Ring Cust Services and say you want to cancel. Note the name of the person in cancellations you deal with.
2. Send Recorded Delivery letter to billing address confirming cancellation and date supplied by CS.
3. Cancel your DD after your final bill has been paid.

Thanks.

I've phoned up as suggested and the bloke I spoke to was helpful. But did insist that he needed to fill in a "moving house form" for me. Confused me a little bit, but he seemed to think it will all be cancelled by 10th June.

Apparently I don't need to return the modem either.

That sounds like the form you fill in to transfer your services to your new address.

Be careful....

Re: Best way to cancel NTL Broadband

Yes, that did occur to me

I think the mistake I made was that after saying I wanted to cancel, I said that after the 25th May I would be at a new address, so they would have to send the final settlement bill to my new address, hence the change of address form.

Anyway, I have followed it up with a recorded delivery letter to the billing address instructing the cancellation and confirming the conversation I had.
