you wont have a cheque for a retentions credit. if you dont use it for calls it will be written off

Hi Lostandconfused,

I hope you're wrong about that as it's a lot to lose. It's really a refund of being overcharged and the retentions guy said that he could put me through to customer services to have a cheque arranged there and then. However, I'd been on hold for so long by that point I just wanted to get off the phone! Maybe this week I'll ring CS to try and arrange a refund cheque.

Well, lostandconfused, you're right - I spoke with billing (in India?) who couldn't generated a cheque but put me through to retentions (in the UK) again. Retentions spoke with the accounts department who told me that when I disconnect my number in August they will automatically generate a cheque for the remaining credit as they can't hold on to any credit that is rightly mine. So, phew, it won't get written off.
