Charged for unwanted channel

Hi all,

When I took my NTL account out I just asked for the family pack. When I got my contract, I noticed that it had "baby tv" on it but at a price of £0.00 on it. Given that it was free I chose to ignore it (although havent signed the contract yet).

Got my first bill and there is a charge of £3.50 for baby TV. I called NTL and they said they have removed it from my package and will refund me for it. One thing I'm a little concerned about is that I have the following discount agreed with NTL "TUL 1MB and Base TV Saving". Is there a way I can check that the baby TV charge has been removed and that my discount has not been lost? I did check with the guy on the phone but he didn't sound very sure.

They rarely do sound sure, to be honest - they're not told enough from higher up the food chain.

There isn't anyway (well, there was, but I'm sure the online billing thing has gone now - hasn't it) to check - personally, I'd just wait until the next bill.

I don't quite understand how you asked for the Family Pack yet quote "TUL 1MB and Base TV Saving"? Might have just been a slip of the tongue (finger), I suppose!

Slysy, whereabouts in the UK are you? I might be able to check the billing.

I asked them to price match something on their web site, so I guess the guy did it by applying this discount. I couldn't order on their web site, because we moved into a new house and the old owners had NTL. So their site said we already had it.

That would be great if you can. I'm in Hertfordshire (near Stevenage).

If you'd like to PM me your name, address and account number along with any security information we hold (e.g., date of birth, mother's maiden name, etc.) I'll check the billing is correct.

One of the CF team can confirm I'm an ntl associate, and I'd recommend you await their confirmation before sending details to anyone.
