I think ntl need to change the company they use in my area as i know for sure they have lost many customers due to their incompetence and LIES from installation engineers. I first encountered this problem in jan.05, after moving across the street, exactly same probs again, all you get from ntl is sorry sorry sorry, took naerly 3 months last year to connect, do they have too many customers? Iv'e spent several hours on phone and day off work this week still no connection. I cancelled last month after 3 weeks of waiting as i was going to hospital for a time, they fitted new cable outside and left a bare wire so it'll be interesting what they'll do next??whenever that will be, i could do a few pages of the joke of installation round this area but i think people would find it unbelievable!!and stop reading.

I've split your post from the other thread into which it was attached as I suspect you have specific issues that deserve their own attention.

Re: Another Poor Installation & Service Problem

Without launching into a massive long rant, can you give us some basic information as to when you first tried to order ntl services for your current property, what services you asked for, the failed arrangements ntl made, and what you are currently expecting, if you are still awaiting installation.

There are a number of ways that assistance can be given to try and move things forward, but we need a little more from you before we can decide on an effective approach.

Re: Another Poor Installation & Service Problem

Well im new to pc, forums etc. so i'll do my best to explain.
I first of all applied for installation over a month ago. The first day was arranged for installation between 12 and 6 pm but they actually came between 9 and 11.45am. I called ntl and they said they would return to finish work in afternoon, nobody returned. After many calls and a couple of visits from workmen who said other workmen were required to carry out specific work which wasn't completed, Their seemed to be a complete lack of communication from this communication company between contract workmen to customer. Three weeks passed before i had to cancel any more appointments as i had to go to hospital.
On Monday 21st nov. i resumed contact with ntl sales and after explaining all, installation was arranged for Wed.23 Nov.between 9 & 12noon. On Tues 22nd i recieved a text stating that installation would be carried out between 12 & 6pm so i had the day off! At 5.45pm i rang ntl for info on installer, they told me they couldn't help me as the installer could turn up at 6pm but they said to ring at 5.45 if no sign. I called at 5.40 and after being put on hold, at 5.50 i was told by dispatch that installer told them he had called at my house half an hour ago and nobody was in so they let him go home!! I was beginning to feel extreamly stressed by this time as i spent last hour and half by front door, they then checked address, 2 phone numbers of mine and all were correct, dispatch then apoligised and gave me complaints address, all of which i've heard before several times. They say the installation will be carried out in morning,Thurs.24th. but im sure another prob will crop up. Im getting phone, broadband and tv from ntl but they really don't seem to have much respect for customers in East Leads area, dont know about anywhere else?

Re: Another Poor Installation & Service Problem

Right, It's clear you've been messed around unacceptably. Do let us know if the installation actually occurs this morning, as you are now advised.

If it doesn't get done, or there are problems post back on here and we will see how we escalate matters for you so that you can get the installation you expect.

Incedentally,What's the name of the contractors in that area?
If it's Kelly's,I've heard some bad reps about them.
