Changing accounts (death in family)

Hello.

My mother was a cable & broadband subscriber. Unfortunatly she has passed away, so I've moved into her property and wish to continue with the subscription leaving everything as it was (TV packages, email accounts etc.)
She paid by direct debit, so how easy will it be for ntl to change the account details over to my name? Obviously they'll need my details, but will they need any copies of death certificates, or any other paperwork?

Thanks in advance,

nige

Hi nitc and to the forums.
Sorry to hear about your loss.

Your best bet is to give customer services a call and they will put you through to the right department where they will take down your new name and payment details.

Re: Changing accounts (death in family)

Unless you had a joint bank account with your Mother I think you would have to start everything from scratch (you might qualify for one of the current deals as well).

Definitely Customer Services as your first contact though. They were very helpful when my Mum passed away. Be careful about how you say things though. Ask to have things transferred into your name before you inform them of your Mothers passing as they might just disonnect everything there and then.

Re: Changing accounts (death in family)

Thanks for the info folks.

I didn't have a joint account with my mother so everything will, I suppose, be starting from scratch, and as it is ntl we're dealing with, well.....

I'll be careful when I phone them Monday, I really don't need everything disconnected.

Again, thanks.
