You can start by visiting Tesco.com where they have an on line price comparison site.

Nobody should be suprised by the depths of ntl's inpeptness. Can you think of any other business who will consistently give out discounts merely because someone phones up and threatens to leave? I have 8 friends who are unfortunate to use ntl (although in fairness 2 have had no problems) and not one of them pays for their phone line anymore.

I can think of loads of companies, British Gas and O2 are just two companies that have added cash to my account in the past because ive asked them to. At then end of the day, how much are they worth to you? How much does it cost to find a new customer and get them all set up? If you dont ask you dont get, if you dont get, you do what you wanted to do in the first place and change provider.

But ntl will give out year long discounts, such that they are no longer making a profit on that customer, and then when the 12 months are up give exactly the same discount again! I'm sure British Gas and 02 are not that generous.

Re: NTL Offers

As I said, ntl give out life-long discounts such that they make a loss. Clearly there is no value to this type of customer.

ntl depends upon new customers, otherwise they'd be ****ed.

Re: NTL Offers

problem is most new customers join on a special offer as well so they not paying full price either, and each new customer loses ntl money on the free install.
