VIP billing never makes sense
I'm a bit miffed with Virgin as they seem to offer VIP for £90
I'm on a VIP package and my bill is always over £115, this month £122!!
Although an avid sports and movie fan, there is so little coming through by way of decents movies, I think I would rather pay for a movie on the occasion there is something that I want to watch (i.e. use the film flex service etc).
For that reason I could quite easily lose the movies, but it just doesn't seem worth it-it seems Sky movies andSky sports seem to priced as a package.
From what I can gather, if I was to go on the £45 a month service, I would have 60mb broadband instead of 100mb, the same 24/7 phone line and all the same channels, but with the exception of the Sky premium movie and sports channels-is this correct?
Thanks

VIP Collection is 90.00 plus 13.90 (phone line rental) = 103.90.
Are you still on the "old" VIP Bundle - talk to Virgin about switching.

Again Premiere Collection is 45.00 plus 13.90 = 58.90
The phone is also reduced from Talk Unlimited to Talk Weekends!
Also, TiVo is 500GB not 1TB
Collections (existing customers) is here:

Re: VIP billing never makes sense
Ive just had a look at that link giving all the different levels of services, and cant figure something out?
We have the top TV (1Tb box) & Phone packages and the 30Mb Internet, with a H/D box in another room, yet we are paying £89.60 a month.
We don't have any Sports channels, just all the Movie ones, yet according to that list, the VIP one is £90 a month?

Re: VIP billing never makes sense
Ironic I think the extra charges are for the phone (bloody 0844/0845 type numbers)
If the phone is 24/7 it should be 24/7 then all these national rate numbers should be included imho!
I have been with virgin/NTL for as long as I can remember and they have always provided a decent service/product, but the costs don't ever seem to add up to what I sign up for. If it was £103.50 a month (inc rental) then fine, but it always seems way over the top. I think with the introduction of paperless billing (not just Virgin) it makes it all to easy to not check your bill properly as well.
I'm also pretty sure that there was a time when I didn't pay a line rental for the phone-or did I just dream this??
Thanks

<I'm also pretty sure that there was a time when I didn't pay a line rental for the phone-or did I just dream this??>
It probably listed the same in the bill.

Are you aware of the Talk08 add-ons? Might be worth it if you dial these a lot.
I think you should call Virgin and discuss your options.

Re: VIP billing never makes sense
Thanks for the reply.
I have phoned Virgin this morning and had a very long and quite frankly painful conversation with them. It seems to me that the pricing is fu*d up and all over the place-There seems to be charges all over the place that I have pointed out that are listed as included in the package I'm on. There are also extras that I have never asked for (Talk International and Talk mobile spring to mind) and again I thought that these were part of the top tier package!
I decided to downgrade from VIP to Premiere and upgrade the Talk (eve and weekend) to Talk Unlimited. Originally the lady on the other end made that a whopping £109-which is more than the VIP package I was on.
According to the website pricing it should be £62.30 plus £2.25 for caller id, but they made it £66.90 plus £2.25 for caller id!
Seriously might consider Sky in the near future as I can add a sports only package and the HD pack for the same price. A bit swings and roundabouts as of course ESPN is all free with Virgin, but then I'm an avid speedway fan and would like Premier sports as it shows Swedish Speedway on Tuesday.
All in all a massive frustrating experience in trying to sort it out!!
Still at least Virgin were effecient in removing the sports and movie channels-was done before I had even got off the phone lol

Premiere upgraded to include Talk Unlimited has been correctly priced at £66.90 as Premiere is £58.90 and Talk Unlimited is £8.

Re: VIP billing never makes sense
Yea! we are seriously considering going back to Sky as well. It seems that the deal agreed with us over the phone never happened, and that we phoned up the day after we changed over to V/M, and asked for the Films H/D package?
Where in fact, we called up to have it activated, as it had previously agreed on the phantom phone call that never happened, where it had been agreed as part of our package>
How much would it drop the price of our package, if we did away with the Film package?
As we have just paid £179.80 for the first Double Month payment.
So we are paying £89.90 for Top T/V and Top Phone package, with the 30Mb Internet service.
Which is way over what was agreed, we would have been cheaper staying with Sky.
