Got a free upgrade tonight

Had a call from India earlier this evening and was offered some upgrades and a reduced price just for being a long time customer.

Currently on VIP50 with a couple of extras;

Tivo50 box
V+ HD box
VHD box
Asian pack

Started off by telling me i would get an immediate upgrade to 100mb rather than waiting till October at the earliest, fortunately got a Superhub (using it in modem mode only) after the last engineer visit.

Then went on to tell me they want to offer me the "Collections VIP" package which basically means i get a free Tivo100 box for the VHD box. No installation or activation charges. Not seen a mention of the Collections VIP pack on the website.

Admittedly the piece only goes down by Â£3 a month but worth it for the BB upgrade and extra Tivo box.

Tis the VIP Collection https://my.virginmedia.com/customer-...llections.html although as far as I was aware it was only the TiVo activation fee that was waived as part of the VIP Collection, so good offer if you have also had the install fee waived

It was only the first TiVo fee included, they nut have added the free additional outlet code

All fitted and up and running, just getting to grips with the Tivo. Only glitch was he originally fitted a 500mb and i noticed on the box it came in when he was moving the V+HD to replace the VHD. Swapped it for a 1TB before he went.

100mb BB shows on the modem, speedtest.net never gets over 20mb but usenet still pulling down 52mb

been with telewest/blueyonder/virgin since the start,on a VIP package but never got a call from Virgin! (only to try and sell me a mobile)

Sorry guys. Used to get the monthly calls trying to sign me up for mobile.
Been with them a long time, in our area (London E17) it was Encom, then Cable & Wireless, then NTL and now Virgin Media.
Wierd thing is we are not due to be upgraded to 100mb until October at the earliest.
Looking back, should have asked for 6months at half price like the newbies get !
