Just give retentions a call and im sure they will be able to offer you a better price.

£37 is the correct price for XL standalone if you are out of contract. You can no doubt get a better price by entering a new 12 month contract.

Still find it odd that i pay for something I don't get and charged for transfering my number. Anyway raised a complaint with oftel.

Maybe you would have been better off bringing it up in these forums first, rather than jumping the gun, and going to BT. I should think that having your BB with VM, and your phone with BT has ended up costing you far more.
Has the BT line actually been installed? Is there a cooling off period?

But if he makes any calls on his BT landline he will be saving money when compared to VM call charges.
Its not that complicated.

No he won't. He can get a cheaper bundle deal if he had both with the same company. And there are plenty of packages that give you free calls.

So when my VM contract ends, they will hike the price to £37 or more? thats very expensive than if you look around at the competition, Plusnet, BT Infinity, Sky Fibre coming soon...

30Mb broadband (soon to be 60Mb) is the same price as your 20Mb broadband (soon to be 60Mb) as it was a free upgrade pending you getting a Superhub.

Re: most expensive 20meg service in country is VM
It's these pesky bundles that make VM's pricing structure such a mess .. don't get me wrong , it's nice to get the discount but there must be a better way of doing it!

Prices for stand alone broadband are much higher than if you take other services too.
20Mb was phased out and replaced with 30mb however unless you got a superhub you would remain on 20Mb.
I would call them and ask to speak to retentions.
|
Yeah it still does 20Mb...i spoke to retentions and they put me on it after wanting to cancel after being on 10Mb...

Then why does this page say that it's £27.50 p/m?

Well, I do, and I don't even have a degree, never mind a PhD....
(but, tbf, I did spend 5 years in Cable/Telecomms billing, including the implementation of ICOMS, bytelSMS, and a couple of others, so that may help.... )
