Does a retention deal mean a new contract?

I got a retention deal last summer. We had phone and internet on seperate accounts so we got them merged into one account and upgraded internet to 10mb. Did this begin a new contract? If so how long do I have to wait to cancel the internet because I don't want it anymore.

Possibly even a new account number and you would need to buy yourself out or wait until the renewal date.

if you weren't clearly told that you would be starting a new contract, then it's not a contract and you can get out of it any time.

If you were clearly told - unlucky bud

If your contract does not end before April, use the new prices to get out of the contract early without a penelty.

They accepted the upgrade and used and paid for the service so they accepted the contract by doing so.

Re: Does a retention deal mean a new contract?

Who exactly do you speak to in order to find out how long is left on your contract?

Also, regarding new contracts, we currently pay £49.70 for XL TV, 10Mb broadband and unlimited phone. I came across this bundle on the VM page, and the upgrade to 30Mb broadband would be nice. However, I'd rather not take the TiVo. Should I ring up retentions to sort out a deal? I basically just want the cheap broadband upgrade.

Re: Does a retention deal mean a new contract?

Wait disregard my last I probably didn't take the phone line into account.

Does anyone have a triple XL pack on a particularly good deal? Just wanted to know what I should be aiming for in negotiations.
