Reducing costs due to redundancy

Hi guys,

I have recently been made redundant and am going to be ringing round all my service providers to try and get some discounts/price reductions on my services.

One of the people I will be ringing is VM, has anyone ever had to do this? If so are they quiet helpful/understanding?

I currently spend £70 a month and am hoping to half this if not more, I am happy to reduce all my services.

Do you think I stand much chance?

I recently moved house and upgraded to Tivo, (about 4 months ago)

Thanks for any help, info or advice.

Ryan

Yes ithink they would be understanding if you contacted them right away and not leave it until debt builds up,even if you are in contract you should be able to downgrade to the minimum service depending on what you take now, early action is the key though.

Sorry on your job loss by the way hope you find another one soon.

As you moved house and upgraded to TIVO you will be in a new contract so you need to ring up ASAP to try and get something done regards the price you are paying.

Good luck with the job hunt.

I'm under the same as well problem as well, Just had Tivo installed 2 weeks ago and looking to downgrade my package.

I was wondering if as you state I am in a new contract then this should only be for the new box as I am not a new customer only changing a box not the actually BB/phone and tv package.

Sorry to hear about your current position good buddy + I hope things do look up for you soon if or when that happens... it's a jungle out there As like everything in todays world/life - it dog eat dog in the jobs market when looking for that next career change. I should think most service providers are willing to make change to have funds coming in than none from there customers if it a little at a times it balances the books.

I found many of times that having a job at big company than small or smaller company the wind is not in your ships sails from first day to the last, speaking from conversions with friends + people alike the sweet spot is with the smaller firms. The pay is not as big but still more than enough to live on, the working hours may be a little rough going but taking in a account the fact of the times hence riding the rough with smooth, being there & finally having your reward when good times return - money is not everything but a means to a end. This what you won't find a large firm or company, the self respect what your doing in your job, rather your just a number then person or human being - myself I'm still here living & enjoying life & have a simple normal day chat with my employer just like any other colleagues side out, some week as work group on the beer as even matched people.
Thats my take on today's world & what it has to offer to every human being, just don't get me started public/government sector workers.....etc

Chin up bud, my thoughts are with most of these forgotten hard workers + yourself akin, that pays our own way in this ever increasing expensive life of living. I remember what my grandmother said, to me on my first job. Mainly it was "harder they knock you down faster & hard you hit them at every point you'll win at some point just never back down"

I hope a few words of wisdom helps in your search

The devil is in the details my fellow friend, just live by what you can get by on - they do say 'look after the pennies & they'll look after you' simple really as not spending on the unnecessary things some don't need.
