Re: Virgin Media Early Termination

I think the ETF is £10 per month for each service cancelled for the remainder of the contract ie two services cancelled with six months left to go would be £120.

But its a long time since i have seen anything about the EDF hope this helps you.

Re: Virgin Media Early Termination

Not really a scam, you're the one who agreed to take the services for a minimum period of time so not really their fault.

Re: Virgin Media Early Termination

funny how people call things a scam when they don't get the answer they wanted . i'm sure if the OP made a contract to lend someone some money for example and then half way through that person said they didn't want to pay you any longer, wouldn't you be upset?? and wouldn't you want the rest of it??
and before you say that's not the same thing i beg to differ, Virgin have paid engineers to come out and connect you, they have also lent you equipment to use their service so they are just trying to get some of there money back, i think if you work it out the average customer needs to be with virgin for at least 10 months before they start making money from that perticular account.

You want to leave early so fully expect them to want you to fulfil your contractual obligations, all companies deal with early terminations in exactly the same way, try asking your mobile phone provider the same question, you signed up for a minimum term and they will hold you to that contract.

I did ask my mobile phone provider (three) to end early and they did without penalty.

How long was the contract with three?

I'm sure I remember hearing something recently that said that contracts over 12 months with mobile companies couldn't be enforced. I don't know if this would also apply to VM.

Re: Virgin Media Early Termination

Details of costs for Early Termination with Virgin are here http://shop.virginmedia.com/the-lega...tion-fees.html

---------- Post added at 23:29 ---------- Previous post was at 23:25 ----------

There has been no ruling on whether early termination fees are 'unfair' however Virgin Media did agree with OFCOM a couple of years ago to reduce the fees http://www.which.co.uk/news/2010/06/...n-fees-217383/
