Virgin New Customer Deals?

What deals are Virgin offering new customers at the moment?

The reason I ask is that in my day job (Sky Retention) I'm seeing lots of people cancelling as they claim Virgin have contacted them and offered unbelievable discounts. I mean they must be losing money on these people, or the prices are only for a few months and the customers will be seriously [Mod Edit] (edit: annoyed) in a few months.

For example:
Someone the other day claimed they were getting TIVO, 2nd box V-HD with XL tv, XL phone & XL broadband, with Sky Sports and Movies all in HD for £44 per month guaranteed for 18 month contract duration.

So a rough estimate they must be giving Sky close to £30 of that amount, how can VM be making any profit out of these deals?

or are they being mis-advised?

Now you can see I have VM services but I have V+HD, V-SD 2nd box, with XL tv, XL phone and XXL broadband, no Sky premiums and it comes to about £80. So am I being conned?

It is also against Site T&Cs to put asterisks instead of the swear sword, as the meaning is obvious, and not appropriate in a family-friendly forum

Btw, re the deal you mentioned - you shouldn't believe everything you read on forums....

Here is a recent deal posted by someone on this forum

£97.96

Still got free install and BB activation - Still got to pay £50 for the 2nd tivo (500gb) which i dont mind but.....they have added a 1tb tivo box as the main one!!!

So i have not ended up with:

VIP50
2 tivo boxes (1tb & 500gb)
Free install
Free activation
Premium HD channels on both boxes
and the rest of the vip bundle

all for £97.96

ok, i lost my 3 month free tv....but i will soon make up that with the better box and bundle extras.

Just got to wait and see what turns up now!!

Re: Virgin New Customer Deals?

I guess this might have something to do with these crazy offers.

Sky do the same thing at the end of their 3rd and 4th quarters (March and June) each year.

Sorry about the asterisks Hugh.

That is based on the assumption those crazy offers are real.....

as I said I know we do them occasionally at certain times of the year too. Though only when it is essential that targets are hit in the next few days.
