Direct Debit

Can anyone shed some light on why I have to pay a bill which is not due to the 10th of October before I can set up a direct debit. Tried to set one up this evening to pay this bill , but they won`t do it, as this bill is not due for another 13 days I do not understand why this is not possible.

Re: Direct Debit

I think it takes about 30 days for a DD mandate to be fully set up between VM and your account
