Best Way to Reduce My Bill

Hi

Can anyone suggest the best way to go about reducing my monthly payement (ie how I should tackle the phone call)

I pay about £60 a month and am a long time customer. I checked the current bundle page and reckon that even without the "new customer" 6 month discount my bundle would be at least £5 a month less. Any pointer on how to structure a call to the "thinking of leaving us" option?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give

If your contract is ending give retentions a call , don`t threaten to leave but ask what would be the best deal that they can offer you to renew your contract. They will usually offer some kind of deal

Thanks for the advice, I did as you said - first offer was an £8 discount which I hesitated and said I felt a new customer would still receive a better deal - reduced it further by another £2. So I will now pay £50.90 (12 month contract) for the following:-

XL Tv
L Broadband
Evenings and weekend telephone calls
Line Rental

This sounds like the exact same situation im in, same package aswell. My bill has slowly crept up over time and it's just a bit too high now and I need it reduced. Think I'll give them a call aswell as I was giving serious consideraton to switching my tv over to Sky as it is cheaper. May aswell see what they offer.

Re: Best Way to Reduce My Bill

Don't accept the first offer of a reduction - I just hesitated and "hummed & hawed" and said that I didn't feel that it was much of a reduction.
I would have some calculations to hand regarding what a new customer would get - and bear in mind a new customer deal is now 18 months - I only had to agree to 12 - Good luck

I also chose the "thinking of leaving us" option
