Minimum Term Contract

A few months ago I had a broadband fault and while the engineer was in fixing it he suggested upgrading to 20Mb which I did.

I expected to have to take out at least a years contract for this but it turns out that VM also renewed my XL tv and phone for another years minimum term as well.

IS this right?

Re: Minimum Term Contract

Were you offered a special price? Could be a bundle offer and thats why all services were renewed.

Re: Minimum Term Contract

It does'nt matter how much he is paying..............

What does matter is that if they have entered a new contract then it was made clear to them and they must fully understand they are entering a new contract.

Re: Minimum Term Contract

Hi, Sorry for taking a while to get back.

No I was only offered to upgrade the broadband nothing else was mentioned. I only discovered when a new contract came in and it had renewed my telephone and TV for a year as well.

Re: Minimum Term Contract

Regardless of which part of the service you upgrade it is charged as a bundle so the whole lot will be a new years contract because of this interconnection.

At least Virgin do not make assumptions about your contract after a year the way other companies do.

When we upgraded our BB they asked about our other services which we requested were unchanged.

Re: Minimum Term Contract

It all depends on the bundle as to whether it'll be an all services recontract or not. It should have been made clear, and written confirmation on the new contract should also have been provided
