Monthy costs

All,

Does this look correct?

Line Rental £13.90
Talk Unlimited £8.00
Phone and BB Bundle Saving -£8.00
Callbar £2.05
Broadband XL (20) £37.00
Paper Bill Charge £1.50

The BB charge seems very high compared to other ISP's.

I'm not interested in the 30MB service so is my only route to cost reduction to go back to 10MB broadband? And that's £25 - which still seems high.

Any advice please?

Thanks, Tim

Re: Monthy costs

Are you sure you don't want to reconsider 30meg? The new firmware should be released to all SuperHubs soon. You could hold out until its released reading up on feedback then give VM a call?

Re: Monthy costs

Hi - thanks for the reply.

I have a very stable home network here and I don't want to disturb it.

I tried to call this afternoon but after explaining the situation to the agent she disappeared leaving me on hold for 15 minutes. I just hung up in the end.

I'll try early tomorrow in the hope of getting a better response. I think I'll just go back to 10MB and ask for something off that cost.

Tim

Re: Monthy costs

No problem. If your intentions are to cut costs then downgrade but if I was you I'd hold out for a few weeks, read up on the superhub firmware and if all goes well then get it and use it as modem only alongside your network. Your already close to paying for the package and plus your discount should increase. You can also downgrade using the superhub.

Re: Monthy costs

I pay £33.90 for 20Mb plus phone line rental (no discounts are shown on bill) against your £42.90 (excluding Talk Unlimited, Callbar and paper bill charge).
Might be an idea to call retentions?

Re: Monthy costs

Exactly ceedee, the ops paying a lot but can use that in his favour rather than just asking for additional discounts. I'm just giving another view to things. You have a chance to upgrade, say your annoyed etc. get the package sorted with discounts increased.

Re: Monthy costs

You don't mention TV. Via Retentions, you may be able to get TV M for free and increase your bundle discount.

There MUST be discounts on your bill. EVERYONE is billed £37 for BB XL before discounts.

Your bill must look something like this:

Phoneline £13.90
BB XL £37
Discount -£17
Total £33.90

Re: Monthy costs

Phone line £12.99
Talk International £1.75
Talk Mobile £1.75
Talk Unlimited £8.00
Voicemail - Free
XL TV £26
SECOND BOX £15
V+ box £10
Premium channels £29
Broadband £37
Paper bill £1.5
-£29.44 discount

£97 total...

Just cancelled, expensive and I feel neglected.
Same box for years (paid for it many times over)
Modem is pants, broadband is capped.

VM have focused on a headline BB speed as the rest of the package is lacking.
I think it could be a difficult year for VM.1

Firstly hi, you should start your own thread.

as for your bill; total costs without the £84 discount totals £142.99. With the discount it totals £58.99. Unless you've incorrectly posted your bill I'm not sure how you've got to £97 total.

Re: Monthy costs

Have you considered getting a much better deal/upgrade out of VM instead of cancelling? I wouldn't call now if I were you, I think all the UK staff have gone home. Try tomorrow, you should be able to get through to someone in the UK during the day if not try Monday.

by the way it still doesn't add up. type up all the information from your bill/advanced charges...
