Temporary downgrade to 20mb on Docsis 2 from 30...still paying 30mb price?

Due to technical problems with the Superhub until the new firmware with "modem only" mode comes in, VM are sending me an older Docsis 2.0 cable modem and router to get my networking back up to speed.

Only issue is that it being on the older network my BB speed will be reduced from 30 to 20 MB for the duration of this "temporary" period.
No-one knows how long its gonna be until this new firmware is out, in fact its not even out for beta testing yet I think, so who knows when it will be ready?

Not wanting to pay the same amount each month for a lesser service (a 30% drop in performance ) I have asked VM to apply a credit on my bill each month to cover this shortfall.

I am dealing directly with a nice chap at the CEO's office on this one, so no cross-purposes expected with offshore call centre's etc.

Seems a fair thing to ask..not unreasonable?
What do you guys think?

I know 20MB isn't available any more, but what kind of credit should I be expecting in this case?

Thanks.

£2.50 per month.

Based on the price of 10Mb BB L with a monthly price of £13.50 with a phoneline and likewise 30Mb BB XL of £18.50 - 20Mb is halfway between these.

Nothing. Current 20mb customers pay just as much as 30mb customers do. If customers got compensation based on what they're paying for and what they get, Sky and BT would be bankrupt.

Shouldn't it be more expensive? I thought both the 20Mb and 30Mb had the same basic price before 'discount' of £37, but the 30Mb actually gets a slightly bigger discount - about £1.50 more??

Cheers

30Mb is the new 20Mb (XL) hence you don't pay any more when you upgrade apart from a set-up fee.. So that means there's no discount
