Is My Current Deal Good?

Been with VM for donkeys...

Just wondered if my current VM deal is about right?

I'm on M Broadband - M TV - XL Phone - a V+ Box & Voicemail

Comes in at £32.

I could probably do away with the XL Phone as I'm not a great landline user - and is there a lower product for Broadband (S?) and TV (S?)

I am kinda tempted by Sky for a change with their free box (not rented) - caller display and 225 FTA channels...

Thanks :-)

Price sounds about right, only thing with Sky and their free box, if it packs up after 12 months then you have to pay to either replace it or get it repaired, with Virgin you will always get repairs for free

As he says, though seeing as sky offer 12 month contracts you are free to leave the moment it packs in after the 12 months anyway. Plus for what they would charge just to look at it you could pick up a fully working 1 off ebay anyway for less than £40.

But with sky the internet is only 2GB per month bandwidth limit with there £20 per month deal (plus line of cause). Where you have to pay an extra £7.50 per month for unlimited internet.

Stick with VM you will regret going to Sky, if you want an excellent broadband service then stay where you are,

The lowest Broadband package is L, the lowest TV pack is M+

As he'd be ringing retentions I guess he could get the M pack.

Re: Is My Current Deal Good?

The M pack is just the Freeview channels isn't it?

Anyway by phoning retentions he'll probably get a deal to stop going to Sky.

Re: Is My Current Deal Good?

Thanks for the replies.

I am definitely on TV M not M+ (according to my bill).

I am very happy with the broadband service - no doubt about that. I guess it's just in these tough times I need to cut back and am wondering what I could sacrifice.

Doesn't help when I get leaflets posted through offering half price deals for six months to new customers of Virgin. I hate that there is little thanks for customer loyalty - but such deals for new customers.

Latest is offering TV M+ Broadband M & Phone L for £10 for the first 6 months - £20 after.

Any point me calling retentions?

Update: Just spoke to them - they are happy for me to cancel. Oh well.

They're happy for me to cancel too.

I was paying £30 for basic phone and lowest tier broadband. Phoned to see if I could get it cheaper. They said no. I told the lady to switch it off and she got upset, parting with a snarky "and you'll lose your phone number and email address".

Re: Is My Current Deal Good?

OK - Could anyone tell me what is the going rate for the lowest packages available with a V+ box?

M (L) Broadband - M Phone - M TV - V+ Box?
