My Virgin Media Acc - Windows Security certificate Error

Am new customer to Virgin media and I am trying to access my virgin media account (from work pc - I am using IE 7.)
Every time I get to the webpage and click on the myvirginmedia link I get the following message:

'There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority'

Is this an issue with the Virgin website or from my end ? I know our work sets up the security on the internet options with IE Tools so I can't try that but my husband also tried to access the account and got the same sort of error ?

I read a previous post on this site about removing the s from HttpS:// and it took ages but I got into the link for sign in. When I entered the user name and password I got the certificate error again.

If anyone has an email address I can contact Virgin about this please can you provide it.

There's been no other reports YET.. but you never know..

Firstly though I'd suggest you check your PC's time and date as this can cause the error as well

Are you given the option to continue?

Re: My Virgin Media Acc - Windows Security certificate Error

I've checked the date and time and those are all Ok.
I don't get any option to continue - only on the certificate error which is 'not recommended'

I viewed the certificate error after I logged in to my account on and it was 'issued by 10.102.10.10' as opposed to VeriSign Class 3 extended validation SSL SGC CA which is the certificate when I opt to Sign into the account.

I have always had this problem since I joined at the beginning of May but assumed it was just a temporary error on the website.

The MyVirgin media page also takes a long time to load.

This is the link to the myvirginmedia option
http://my.virginmedia.com/home/index...tal_HP_MyVM_14

Then I select Sign in
https://my.virginmedia.com/home/signIn
- I get a certificate error

then
I remove the S on https:// and I get the sign on screen
with the VeriSign certificate issued details as mentioned above.

When I log on I get
https://identity.virginmedia.com/vm_...p/login.action - the red page shows loading then I get the certificate with the issued by 10.102.10.10

If I remove the s from https: to be
http://identity.virginmedia.com/vm_sso/idp/login.action
The page shows loading and waiting address link and connecting. The certificate shows Identified by VeriSign and then changes to Virgin Media Ltd (GB)

After about 5 minutes I get a network error
Network Error (tcp_error)
A communication error occurred: ""
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

Who can I speak to at Virgin that can resolve this - not sure customer services can assist ?
