12 month contract - price increase 2 months in?

I have already posted regarding the debacle of our HD/50Mb upgrade and the misinformation we were fed on prices a couple of months ago. Having settled on a price and entered into a 12 month contract I now find that 2 months later VM have put the price up by £3.40 a month. How does that work then? We had a contract!

It strikes me that this just can't possibly be right as what would be to stop them signing people up and then whacking the price up to £1,000 per month once they have signed on the dotted line.

If they can break it does that mean I can now break it.

Yes it states that in the T&C's.

What has the price rise been on? Im not aware of price rises that would change your bil by that much?

Paper Billing up 25p
TV XL up £1
Addl set box discount has been reduced by 90p

Total increase £3.40

Not happy. Another nail in VM coffin come the end of the 12 months

If you are correct and that T&Cs allow VM to sign people up and then put prices up then the contract is unfair. There must be a get out

Why don't you do what you threatened in your OP and get rid of Virgin Media NOW? Why wait for some considerable time, paying all this extra, when you could be getting a better deal NOW? Price increase is a valid reason in Virgin Media's Ts&Cs to cancel within contract with no penalty. I think you have misunderstood what was being said earlier. Virgin Media CAN put the prices up but you also have the right to use this as a reason to cancel without penalty.
