Retentions deal = Lie.

Question please gentlemen...

I signed a deal with retentions 2 months ago for the price of £86.50 per month. My latest bill comes out (without pro rata charges) and it's now £94.00 per month. When I challenge them on this they basically state, "oh, it's because of the price increase and it's in your T&C's." They won't budge on this and say I had the chance to cancel (I never received any emails but that's another story).

When I was on the call with retentions before I accepted the new offer, I specifically asked them "would this price stay the same for the duration of the contract?" The Answer I got was "Yes."

Who can I speak to about this? The call centre are useless. The price was agreed and I'm pretty sure it will still be recorded since the call was made 2 months ago. Any advice?

Re: Retentions deal = Lie.

AFAIK the way it works is, they apply the full cost of your services to your bill at the prevailing rate, and then put a retentions discount on the bill to bring it down again.

What you have agreed with them is the level of your discount, not the total cost of your services. If the standard price of your services goes up, then your bill will go up.

That's how I think it works, anyway.
