Re: Price of extra V+ HD box when on VIP package.
Thats just it. I phoned them yesterday as I think I'm paying too much for what we've got. We're on the VIP package and we have an extra V+ HD box. So we have the V+ HD box and the standard set top box as part of the VIP package and added the extra V+ HD box to this. When we ordered the 3rd box we were told it would be £5.00 extra on the bill with a one off £49.95 HD activation.
After checking the virgin media website and there own forums it appears this has gone up to £6.50/month for the extra box. But when the latest bill came in the total service charge was £116. Seems we've been paying this amount for quite some time.
I only checked the prices after getting a letter asking if we wanted to upgrade the broadband from 20mb to 30mb. The VIP package is now £95.55. If you add £6.50 to this it comes in at £102.05 plus a paper bill charge of £1.50 brings it to £103.55.
The first person I spoke to when I called them seemed to understand what I was saying and confirmed the price of £6.50 for the extra box. She then put me on hold while she checked getting the standard box changed for the V HD box and getting us sent the 30mb super hub which is now part of the VIP package. After a few minutes on hold I was accidentaly transfered to someone else and had to try explain the whole thing again. This second set of people without going into too much detail were not very helpful and first tried to tell me it was £20/month extra and then £10.50 extra for the third box. Even if it is £10.50 for the extra box £95.55 + £10.50 + £1.50 comes to £107.55. Just under £10 less than we're paying at the moment.
So phoning for the correct price at least yesterday didn't get me any answers or help. All It got me was confused, upset and slightly hot under the collar.
So I'll be trying again sometime today but who would be the best people to speak to? I called the billing section at first yesterday but I've no idea who I ended up getting transfered to.
Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dougie.
