Virgin Messing me about...

Hi All

To begin with I am currently on XL (30) broadband, I rang on the 4th Feb to enquire why I am being charged £37 per month when new customers can get it for £28.50, the operator at the time said he would upgrade me to the 30mb and lower my price to the £28.50 + paper bill charge.

Bill came through days after I called up still being charged £37, I thought it might take a month to come into effect, next bill comes in with the £30 activation fee and still being charged £37 per month.

So on the 17th March I called up Virgin again to enquire and they said they would listen to my call from the 4th Feb and he would call me back in a week. To be fair he did call back to tell me that my call from February wasnt one of the calls recorded and that there was a £68 credit on my account, which he or I have no idea what that is for. He also told me to keep an eye on my bills. I checked my account on the VM website and theres no mention of a credit on my account.

Any ideas of what I can do next because I really dont think its fair to be paying nearly £10 more a month than what I should be.

Please post the detail from your bill here, including all discount lines.

Everyone gets billed £37 for BB XL (either 30Mb or 20Mb) before discounts.

If you are standalone BB and you don't have a discount line on your bill then you can certainly do something about it.

PS Was it really necessary for you to post what is effectively a duplicate thread from one of your previous ones?

Sorry about that, forgot about my previous thread

I am on standalone BB and I have no discount lines whatsoever

My bill dated the 9/3/11 is as follows:

Total Charge £68.25

Sevices:

Broadband XL (30) £37.00
Paper bill charge £1.25

Additional Charges
30mb Activation Fee £30

Virgin always do that promise you one thing to get you to agree but them when you get bill its totally different
I had that happen to me they swore blind they didn't offer a me a deal it took me finally 4 months to sort out when my 12 month contract is up I'm off don't like dealing with liars and cheats

From what I can see you should be paying (assuming you are paying by Direct Debit):

BB XL 30 @ £28.50

Paper billing @ £1.25

Total = £29.75

I think you need to speak to Customer Relations if you are getting no help from Customer Care. Call 150 (0845 454 1111) tomorrow and select "thinking of leaving us"

Yeah Im paying by direct debit. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what happens.
