Worth Switching my package?
Hello, i don't feel the need to write an essay for a simple question so i'll keep it short and sweet:
I currently pay £25 a month for the L size broadband (10mb). I have seen an offer on the virgin media website to get 30mb broadband for £28.50 a month. Can i seriously go up 2 sizes for £3.50 extra?
Note: Yes, i don't have a line in so i pay for the BB without a line.
Also, i have been a Vm customer for nearly 2 1/2 years now and still don't get a loyalty discount. Can someone explain the criteria for loyalty discounts?
Thanks,
Danny

Re: Worth Switching my package?
£25 for 10 Meg ? That's wrong - should be £20.25 increase to £21.00 in April

I Can't access ebilling at the moment as it's down, but maybe i am missing something like a payment handling charge or something :P
But seriously, if i set up a DD, i can pay less for 20mb more speed! That's insane!

That's insane! You're better off set up direct debit (save you £5.00 charge) and online ebilling too.

Re: Worth Switching my package?
Its not insane, its the non contract price, has been that way for a long time.
Danny, worth phoning up and seeing what offers are available, you should be able to get a better deal if you re-contract.

Re: Worth Switching my package?
Hi all,
I'm well out of contract and haven't really paid much attention to my Virgin bill as it's always been okay, til I noticed the prices go up for April. I'm also on L broadband at £25 a month but do get loyalty discount. Last time I changed this was 2009.
Currently:
Telephone Line Rental, £12.99
Loyalty Pack B B / Phone / T V B, -£19.50
T V Size: X L, £26.00
V+ HD Box, £0.00
Broadband Size: L, £26.00
This totals service charges up at £45.49. In November last year I was paying £41.99 for these services. Do people on here think it's worth giving them a call to see if there's anything better? - happy to sign up for 12 months more.
--
I should have mentioned I hardly use the phone line but it was cheaper for me to take phone M at the time and only use it now and again rather than forfeit the bundle discount. I take it this would remain the situation? Thanks for any tips.

Your have nothing to complain about here as your price for this bundle is £5.50 cheaper than the ongoing monthly charge for a new customer of £50.99.
PS Without the phoneline, the monthly price would be £45. Your choice if the phoneline is not worth 49p to you.

For a 10 to 30MB existing customer, you can get £5 a month off for the first six months. There's £30 to pay for the new modem to pay as well.
