Price Scam
Price displayed is not actually the price you pay
Advert:
http://shop.virginmedia.com/broadband/up-to-30mb.html
Please explain to me that a package deal on VM web sit said £18.50*,and was told that £18.50 was what I would pay. Then looking at the next bill it say £37.0 for the same product. Nowhere is it mention that the price displayed was not actually the price you pay, but only after a discount. I can see what they charge for there individual service and what they charge for a package, but why be underhanded about a prices clearly displayed and then NOT stating , this is only obtained after " Loyalty" discount/saving.
Note: not even in the small* The legal stuff
This is a Defiant case of false advertising.......

Re: Price Scam
Did you take up the *Plus a Virgin Phone line for £12.99/month 18 month contract option?

Re: Price Scam
Are you factoring in the cost of the phone line rental you need?
Is there's pro rated charges included on your bill?

Why is it? The total price is the same, and this is what you are being sold

Re: Price Scam
I have just noticed this post
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35192064-post20.html
You already gave a breakdown of your costs. XL bb is 37 on it's own and because of the package you have it's discounted by 18.50
I fail to see what your actual issue is? Nearly all businesses will list your full price and then discount to the price you were offered.

Re: Price Scam
Your missing the point..... WHAT is the price quoted on the web page... £18.50
I already have a line,that I never use.
PLEASE tell me where it say price displayed is AFTER discount.
If one is not entitle to discount, do I still get it at £18.50 as stated.
I don't think so.
If you went into a shop that display a product for say £20, you go to checkout and operator say £26 please, do you argue that it say £20 or leave it. or ask why £26, answer Sir you have to have this battery to get it for £20, Cost of battery £6.......
Do you say OK I'll take it or TRADING STANDARD.

Re: Price Scam
Yea the price on the site is what you pay because you have a phone and tv package.
If you took XL b on its own you would pay 37. I really dont see what your issue is.
You are still paying the advertised price which is discounted from the standard price. The comparison you made doesn't work as incorrect pricing in stores is a seperate issue and if the was no signage depicting the said offer you would be able to have at that price.

Re: Price Scam
Where it lists the price of £18.50, there is an asterisk next to that. That asterisk relates to the bit directly underneath it which says *Plus a Virgin Phone line for £12.99/month
18 month contract"

Re: Price Scam
The OP is paying EXACTLY what the website says the pricing should be.
This is not either a scam or false advertising as the OP claims.
I do agree that it is the billing method that easily leads to such confusion.

Re: Price Scam
WHERE do it say price quoted is AFTER DISCOUNT.....
and I already have a phone with VM, so it seem I have to have a second phone to have the price displayed on there website.

If you add Broadband XL to a phone then the total price will go up by £18.50, which is exactly as described on the website
(£37 - £18.50 discount) is a charge of £18.50

Ben, Unfortunately (despite my detailed explanation on the other thread) this person chooses not to understand. He is paying what he should do. He thinks, however, that he is being FORCED by Virgin Media into haveing a phoneline he doesn't want.
I have decided that I will no longer try to be helpful to him as he is one of those people who thinks he is right, even when he is wrong.

That does not or has ever included the cost of paperclips or ink that you seem to think it does, that is just a part of your fantasy world nothing more as no company is legally obliged to break their bills down further than what you receive at the moment.

Stick with the Hide behind the small print explanation, and people will eventually give up....
Enough said
