hi
just had the VM services changed from my partners name to mine (she still lives here) as I have to, to be able to benefit from the DSG staff offer.
I knew about the one off charge of £20 for transfer
but from the new residential services contract that VM sent me today, my monthly charge has gone from £38.99 to £55.24!
none of the services have changed

we have telephone M, with something called Prem Bar (?) which we didnt ask for and free voicemail (again not needed or asked for)

it listed BB L size and wireless BB underneath.
Am using my own router tho, I bought it on Ebuyer!!

TV has Size L which is correct
then 'payment handling charge' (any idea?)
and VHD box.
the VHD box was already on the account and activated too.

also in other it says change directory details as a payment

so any ideas why I'm now paying £16 more than I was before and the only thing thats changed is the name on the account and who's bank it comes out of?

have mailed VM cos I really cant be bothered to sit and talk to call centre staff!

Sounds like the discount that was on the old account has been missed off when the new account was set up

Well as it sounds like you should be on Direct Debit, but aren't and are missing around a £12 a month discount, then I would certainly have words with them

Yes you can at www.virginmedia.com/myvirginmedia, although you will need to know the e-mail account details to do it (as they may not have transferred those over)

At a guess he will need to do a Move and Transfer if the was an existing email account on the old account.

tried to set up DD online but since I had initial payment outstanding, it wouldnt let me!
rang 150, lady added the discount and said I would have to pay £88.41 on my card for 2 months plus transfer, then set up DD for me.

So hopefully all sorted.
I asked why they had charged me full price and not set up a DD when all the details were on the form and signed by me, plus they had sent 2 seperate letters with the services contract info in.
her reply "I don't know, maybe they are silly"

My cousin passed away & the account was in her name, to transfer to the husbands name, MV said it would be £5 a month extra. After a discussion with them they made an apology, He was still upset, so he is now with SKY.
