Re: £1 price rise
Wow this topic is fun, fun, fun and I feel a summarary comment coming on, kind of Jerry Springer style.
Musicbravo's final thought......
Some of you are having issues with VM's removal of the ebilling discount, now whereas I agree that £1 could make a big difference to some people (2 tins of baked beans, a loaf of bread and an apple (Thats's ASDA price)). It was after all just a discount and as with all companies they reserve the right to remove discounts, much like my car insurance which has gone up by over £200 (Great to be rewarded for 11 years driving experience and over 7 years no claims). Like VM staff have said, if you don't like it complain directly to them or leave in protest (Believe in better, does not mean cheaper trust me). Don't make personal battles on here and make the place unpleasent. No matter what people pay for a service they all have the same right to reply. Would you have preferred they announced the loss in discount at the next/previous annual price rise? I just don't get what people want from them?
I am from the old retention deal days and have a hideous discount on my account. I have been waiting for the day when I see my bill go up by £20 and if it does I shall just have to deal with it or leave (which I already am but not through choice).
I hope this makes sense and that I haven't offende anyone with my opinion, but at the end of the day it is just that my opinion and I will stick with it no matter what lambasting I get, the difference between me and some others is though I won't keep entering into a circular argument and I definately won't keep adding randomness to spark a new row.
BTW ASDA is just an example, other supermarkets are available.

Re: £1 price rise
So, what does everyone think of this £1 discount removal then?

I take that you have decided not to read any of the previous 122 posts on this matter, if I was you I would just take a guess and I believe that whatever you come up with will not be far short of the mark.

Re: £1 price rise
While I understand what people are saying about it "only" being a £1 increase, the simple fact is that when NTL became VM monthly bill was £52.50 + phone call charges (inc paper bill) . Now it's £63.50 a month + phone call charges for exactly the same services and due to go up to £64.50 with this removal of this discount.
All of this price increase has been made up of "small" increases of 50p here, £1 there etc.
But that doesn't change the fact that will cost me £144 per year more for the same services (-paper bill). It all adds up, people.

Re: £1 price rise
That's inflation for you. No doubt you've also had a wage rise each year to boot

Re: £1 price rise
Prices go up and discounts end that is the way of the world and no one likes to pay more regardless of how much they earn.

Re: £1 price rise
I'm sure when the Government end the incentive to move to low CO2 emission cars (VED £0, £20, £30, £90 etc. p.a.) people won't complain.
After all, it's only the removal of an incentivising discount isn't it...

Re: £1 price rise
I'm bothered. Just not as bothered.
These little increases still all add up though, and this one as far as I can see has nothing to do with "inflation" or even Sky.

Re: £1 price rise
Well I'm bothered! ... it follows on from the last 'back-door' increase when my 'bundle' discount went down from £11 to £8 .. therefore a £4 increase in price now for the same services!
Factor in the next increases in October , a VAT rise at the end of the year too .. it all adds up!
