@ broadbandking
Every mic macs a muckle..and I'm not talking about the Irish
I think the complaint is not the value..but the principle.
If it was just about the £1, well..having had the shock of finding out a pint costs £3.50 in pubs now..I'm still reeling. I remember paying 36p a pint..my £8 apprentice wage allowed me a few drinks..and enough for a fish supper..and don't get me started on the price of a fish supper

Its not a pound .... its a sneaky increase AS WELL AS the annual increase.
I'm really cross about it!

Re: £1 price rise
Yes, as Ultimate says, ebilling saved THEM money so they passed on part of that saving to get a lot lot of us to do it.
They then penalised people who didn't or couldn't pay by DD to recoup (probably a lot more than) the cost of sending out paper bills.
But they are obliged to bill customers somehow, so this just seems a way to get US to pay for the cost of the billing!!!!

Then move your service if its that much of a problem.
£1.00 is not even worth worrying about these days.

Re: £1 price rise
You still don't get it, it is a double increase, double=twice, this increase is not part of their annual increase, it is an additional increase. people don't have to move their services because of £1, but people do have a right to moan about it, after all this site used to be called a "protest site", people come here to moan and complain about the then NTL.

Ok i understand that but £1.00 is nothing compared to some things that have been rising month in month out. And i have a right to moan about the moaners.
Its obviously a slow news day everywhere

Virgin Media are simply doing what everyone seems to want them to do - treat existing and new customers the same!
Current default is paperless billing, additional £1.25 per month charge for a paper bill.
The £1 discount which many had, including myself, should be considered as something extra that we've had for some time and are no longer getting.
Perhaps you would prefer if Virgin Media took the BT approach and charged £3.75 per paper bill!!

Re: £1 price rise
I'm waiting for another £1 hear and there this year because its only a £1 here and there what does it matter....
When I see lists of slow BB, bad channels, phone lines not working, faulty equipment, rebranding of old equipment rather than there own new. areas that need updating and no new channels/programs to go with them and the cost of rebranding their channel names?
So If and they probably will increase the price this year here and there again by £1 it will make a difference when they are pulling in an extra 15 million a year

Re: £1 price rise
Oh purleeze give it up. BT have gotten away with it for years, you really expected Virgin NOT to follow suit?

This is a help forum... people seek it out to get advice and sometimes "moan"... so of course you are going to see faults on here.
Nobody can guarantee a fault free service.
Please explain what you mean by "bad channels" and "cost of rebranding their channel names" ?

Re: £1 price rise
LOL, FairyFairy will be blaming Virgin Media when the 2.5% VAT increase comes into play in January 2011.

Re: £1 price rise
I think every one is also forgetting that the VAT will be going up too.
So that £1 increase and the rest of our bills will cost a lot more.
I can remember the most we every paid for a minute call was 3p and no connection charge, it was taken for granted we should receive a paper statement of what we used. Now it is a cunning way to rip us all off, I can see VM coming up with a green call plan so when we make our phone calls at a much higher price we would feel better about doing it.
