No I haven't ..

What price rise are you affected by in October?

Re: £1 price rise
I thought I saw somewhere the lowest TV service was going up by £1.
.. and all the Sky channels (I don't get those though!)
I reckon this is Virgins way of trying to claw back all the money they have 'lost' on retention deals .. and possibly the deals for 'new customers' It would'nt surprise me at all if , by this time next year , my bill would have gone up by £10 ..

If your bundle discount has gone down then you yourself are one of those on a retention deal!

Not really .. I've always had this discount since I signed up for broadband .. up-grading from dial-up days!
I always thought of a retention deal as a further 'sweetener' on top of what you already have to keep you on board .. depends how you look at it I suppose.

Have the emails re the removal of the e-billing discount gone out to all customers as I've not received one, or are they being phased?

You will only receive an email if you have one registered on your account for contact purposes.

The various threads have been going on for a while so they may not have sent yours.
Remember that it is a removal of a discount and not actually a rise in price, that is not me speaking but the email by the way.

At the moment having an e-mail address registered for e-billing is generally seperate than any address used for contact purposes.

I was waiting for someone to ask that question and Ben has already answered it.

Re: £1 price rise
I have not received an e-mail reference this change and have e-billing. They use that e-mail to advise me of bills plus offers etc etc so have the line of communication open.
VM have a long standing practice of cynically altering discounts or what were price incentives to enhance income and whatever defence is put up by anybody the fact remains that if you pay more it is a price rise.
The only area where I cannot get deals that under-cut VM in price by a country mile is BB which although can be had for virtually free from some companies cannot compare on performance. Having a long line on ADSL has kept me as a reluctant VM customer for years but with FTTC scheduled for March 2011 to a cabinet 50 metres from my home, BT supplied wholesale services will be in competition.
Price creep is irrelevant in how it is done because once a combination of fully competitive packages is available, total cost is the only factor. When FTTC is provided I anticipate some interesting calls to sales or retentions with them having to beat the best on offer to retain loyalty against a back-drop of frustration going back many years. I suspect that thousands are awaiting the opportunity and competitors will fight tooth and nail to create churn that will undermine the VM BB speed monopoly.

That would cost billions and no one is going to spend that on the off chance of getting some customers.
We have Fibrecity in Bournemouth but the costs to rollout across the country will be astronomical.
