Re: Saving £1.25 ... or not?
I still haven't received official notification and am wondering whether the recent changes to the e-mail and me changing from ntlworld.com to Virgin Media has made the difference.
I've been reading about people's settings not being correct and them being unable to receive mail .... but I don't know whether I'm receiving all my mail if I'm not expecting it in the first place!!
... oh ... and another question .... presumably my ntlworld e-mail address is still my main account for notifications ???

Re: Saving £1.25 ... or not?
I just realised that makes a 2% increase on my bill!
Damned inflation!

Bit of a slanderous remark! Such a small amount would covered in the contract T&C's. I take it you are on M+?
p.s. this thread is about e-billing discount

Don't forget to add the actual increase earlier in the year as well

Doe this mean people can get out of their contract early?

Actually possibly yes - the T&Cs say any change, it doesn't have to be over a certain percentage
However you can only cancel the affected service. So if you've got all three and it's just the TV price that is changing, you can only cancel the TV. Cancel the others and EDFs would apply for those
---------- Post added at 11:14 ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 ----------
But as been pointed out, anyone who has the e-bill discount is most likely out of any minimum term anyway

They would have to just have tv and no other services which is quite unlikely, I think virgin would probably just offer a £1 a month discount till the end of contract as its cheaper than collecting the box. Im sure your right this will apply to folk outwith the 12month contract

Re: Saving £1.25 ... or not?
Are there going to be any more stealth rises this year? We've already had a £1 rise in April, now we're having a £1 discount removed. By Jan 2011 my bill will have gone up four times.
1-April 2010 rise.
2-Oct loss of e-billng discount.
3-Sept 2010- call connection and tariff increase.
4-Jan 2010- Inflation increase.
