I know it's asking a bit much, but if I called back & asked that I wanted one of the new Samsung V+ boxes as well, it stems back again to the age old problem of it all depends on if an engineer has it on his van?

As you have already stated it depends what is on the van as the can be no guarantees with regards getting a specific box, I personally have a SA V+ and in the 2.5 years I have had it the has been no issues and I'm quite happy to continue using it for the foreseeable future.

your one of the lucky ones we have had nothing but issues with ours spontaneous reboots to total lock outs, multiple failed recordings.... , if we had the box replaced wouldnt that consitute as a new contract?

No if it is replaced as faulty the is no change to the contract as Virgin Media own the equipment not you.

I have a mate who's looking for BB etc. and can be a real pain in the bum. He's a real stickler for detail, questions everything forensically and therefore frequently has the people he deals with pulling their hair out. Do you reckon VM will offer me a discount if I promise NOT to recommend VM to him.....
