Bundle price increase question
I have a bundle of BB, TV & Landline which started in june last year.
I was paying 25 quid per month.
The bill shows the 25 as being for BB, the tv being free (0.00).
The telephone line rental was 11 quid and it was discounted by the full amount until this month when the line rental went up to 11.99 and the discount, now called a "saving" went down from 11 to 10.
Before I trawl through the contract small print, I wonder if anyone can shed light on this before I speak to virgin about this.
It is effectively a price rise of 1.99 per month for the bundle.
Thanks.

Re: Bundle price increase question
Benmcr will be able to make it clear how your bill has gone up. To be honest this is no secret as alot of VM customers are seeing their bills rise over the next month due to the April price increases. From what I can see you landline telephone charge will have gone up by 99p and your broadband has increased by £1. You may want to check the Ts&Cs in your contract regarding price changes during you first 12 months.

Re: Bundle price increase question
Spoke to virgin
they said that the discount was being reduced from 11 quid to 10 quid
they said the contract allows them to raise their charges if they want to
so thats that

Re: Bundle price increase question
The contract allows them to raise prices, yes.
They do have to give notice of significant changes, i.e prices. You have a 30 day right to cancel services affected by the price change at no penalty cost.

Re: Bundle price increase question
Spoke to retentions who amended the bill, reducing it back to 25 from 26.99
they can't increase the bundle price in the first 12 months of a contract, according to their own rules!!

Re: Bundle price increase question
Just had my bill and it's gone up by £3.50 - that's an increase of 11%! I am very annoyed as it was very much touch and go whether I renewed my contract last December as I'd had a diabolical year with a faulty landline for 6 months and repeated broadband speed issues in the evening.
No way would I have signed up knowing an 11% price rise was around the corner. I'm angry!

There is no such rule

In the letter from Davidson on 1st Feb, it states at the bottom
If you are on a 3, 6 or 12 month offer, you won’t be affected by any of the price changes (apart from call rate changes) until the offer ends.
Is that not a rule?

Re: Bundle price increase question
That is if you are on a term limited offer above the normal bundle price for the service.
E.G the current 2 months free offer for new customers would take into account any price changes during that 2 month period and have discounts and reductions amended to keep it to the specified offer.
After the 2 months ends however you would then pay the increased price for the services you have
The bundle prices themselves and the component prices can be altered as per the price change clause

Thanks for the info.
Is it true that if you upgrade from BB L to BB XL you get a free wireless N router?
Do you have to request this?
Cheers

Re: Bundle price increase question
Yes you can get a free N router when you upgrade to XL - however in return you agree to a new 12 month minimum term for your broadband
You should be offered the choice
