Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
The rules surrounding the migrations are a bit too complicated to go into here. But yes - there are probably some people that have more than one account at an address

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
It's difficult knowing what to suggest when I suspect that any action you take will possibly have repercussions within your family.
As it is her account and she would be the one VM would pursue for non-payment it would make sense for her to have control of her VM account and not your step-father.
If possible your mother could phone CS and tell them she has forgotten the password to her VM login or you could do it for/with her on line. It would then be a simple matter to register for e-billing.

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
You don't have to know the security details to register for e-billing. All you need to know is your account number and area reference

Hi Ben, I didn't realise that. It would be easier for the OP than I thought.
Link to registration page :- https://ebill2.virginmedia.com/ebill2/Registration.jsf
Although he may need your help sorting out his area number, seeing as he hasn't got a bill to get it off.

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
Our VM account is in my dads name, but we have a password that we use so I can make enquires on our account.
I last used to to upgrade to 20Meg, with out any problem.
I should add that he set up the password.

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
I was meant to say the email address that you use to sign into 'my virgin media'. I stupidly set my step dad up as the default email address with access to that. The broadband account is in my mums name.
He's since changed the password for his email address... I've seen about recovering it but now it's saying even the one I set him up with isn't the default account for 'my virgin media' when I try to recover. So I think he's changed a few things about.
I have since not been able to use the email address I set up and my mums @ntlworld.com address says it doesn't exist anymore.
I suppose we will have to phone up and ask them to reset the email accounts too?

Yeah and and it's internal systems and we could both get in to trouble discussing them here
Not really involved with billing myself these days, so was just wondering

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
Thank you Joglynne.
I think we have one piece of paper from VM about late payment... that's the one we have been using the barcode off each month to pay. that may have the area code on... I will check. I know it definitely has the account number.

Thank you for that...
all set up... logged in... we owe £114.04
that makes it sound like they've charged us for the 20Mb BB which was meant to be a free upgrade for 4 months

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
You can see the last 6 months of bills so should be able to see if they have or not

Re: We've been disconnected... again :(
Uh oh... mums not happy, I showed her what's owed... there's no way that we can afford that in one lump.
I said it's going to have to be paid otherwise VM will come after her for not paying... She said yeah right, if they do, she'll just move out and i'll go with her.
Step dad has done nothing but mess us around... this shows he's been lying to us
we can pay about £52 on Tuesday, that will get our services back like usual but it wont be long until we go out of credit again.
---------- Post added at 19:51 ---------- Previous post was at 19:24 ----------
Just checked the downloadable PDF and we are going to be charge for BB XL next month. grrr.
looks like:
An amount from your last bill remains unpaid.
Full payment of the 'Balance brought forward'
needs to be made immediately. If you have
already paid the amount we look forward to
receiving payment of your new charges which
total £53.74. A £10 fee is charged for late payment
of accounts.
makes it look like we need to pay £64 before we will get our services back
