Re: 'Lifetime' Loyalty bundle
These lifetime loyalty bundles were offered by Virign Media to countless customers. It's blatantly obvious from the scale of the fraud that more senior staff must have know what was going on.
Incidentally, I have lifetime deals on both my O2 and Orange Mobile phone packages and both have fully honoured their offers for the last eight years.

As I said earlier if it is not in the notes as a Lifetime bundle then it does not exist, so how can a discounted offer be fraud when the offer runs out.

As many of us have said earlier, we were told very clearly that it was a lifetime offer and that it would be honoured for as long as we didn't change any services. I think the fraud label is fairly accurate...

Word of mouth does not stand for anything in a court of law but notes on an account would prove what you are saying.
If the are notes on an account then you also have an agents ID to go with them otherwise can you prove an agent was the the person who you spoke to over the phone.
You have to have proof of fraud otherwise you have no case to answer and therefore would not even get into a court of law.
It is different posting on forum and claiming fraud as you are to all intents and purposes untraceable, but try writing in to the Head Office and making such claims without evidence and you would be on the receiving end of a solicitors letter.

Re: 'Lifetime' Loyalty bundle
Unfortunately even with notes it is unlikely any company would disclose they exist and at best would probably say they will send the agent for "retraining" if anything did come to light. Afterall this agent as closed the deal which is what the company wants so they are unlikely to penalise thenm due to the effect it could have on the rest of the sales staff. I now take any sales as dishonest and unless i have something already in writing for a deal i insist that they confirm they send you it in writing. Only Scottish power has done this for me in the recent past if a company does not i just move on and find another.
Your only hope would be a possible group action if enough people were promised this deal that does not exist. It would be a lot harder for them to dismiss it rather than just a one off allergation.

Good grief. I'm not talking court of law nor ever indicated I was. Yes, we all know Virgin acted shoddily, but I still think the service is fine for the price, and about equal to alternatives.
Ps. I *do* have a recording, whatever the notes say because I recorded the conversation at the time.

You do know unless you informed the person you recorded that it cannot be used as evidence.
I may be an employee but I have been a customer for a lot longer and have never had any issues.

Yes, I did inform them.
Why all this talk of court? I'm not planning on pursuing it any further - life's too short. Virgin service isn't bad. They can be their own worst enemy though and certainly know how to erode customer loyalty.

Not aimed at you at all but our fellow readers as your post made an excellent sounding board, I fully understand your frustration and other peoples but thankfully I only deal with faults with your broadband not with your packages.
As for anyone recording me on a call I would have no issues with that at all.

Re: 'Lifetime' Loyalty bundle
moldova, you do not need to let the other party know you are recording a phone conversation as long as you are not intending to use the information to pass onto a third party or for market research.
Anyway, more to the point we were also told that the" Lifetime loyalty discount" would be exactly that and never reduced or removed as long as we did not reduce our package.

I'm on one of these 'lifetime bundles' too, and that is how it was sold to me.

This was exactly how it was sold to me around three years ago. At the time I had seperate telephone and broadband accounts. The customer adviser said to me, that if I joined the accounts I could benefit from these loyaly discouts for life!!

Re: 'Lifetime' Loyalty bundle
And presumably you're still getting those discounts. It's just that the discount stays the same but the base price of the services increase. So you end up paying more. My bills still show "Loyalty Pack B B/ Phone/TV B Sky" - £-21.00.
