IIRC when I changed from dialup to broadband years ago when broadband first came out there was an option during the setup process that you had to tick if you wanted to keep your dialup connection.

Success, after asking VM for complaints policy and threatening to take it further, including naming the CEO as a point of contact, we have in writing that the full amount over paid will be refunded.
Thanks for the advice and pointers.

Well done doughtrow in sticking at it to sort this out and its also good to see that VM showed a bit of sense in sorting it out. gives you a bit of respect for VM .
I did ask my friends to check their bills as they also changed from dial up to broadband some time ago and theirs looks OK

Hmmm...Well lets just hope you eventually get it in full.

I have had similar problems with a Company whose name I prefer not to disclose.

The technique used after getting to the point you are at now, is to send you a cheque or credit for only 50% of the agreed amount. After which you must start the whole process over again if you wish to pursue it. If you do and you eventually gain another agreement, again they will only refund 50% and so on.

If you persist you will eventually get most of it back.

Most people haven't got the time and give up.

Sharp practice or what? I guess someone has to pay for the Exec bonuses.
