Watch Your Bills
hi all, we just had our october - november bill in and it's wrong, not by much but it's still wrong. back in september 25th we owed them 21.58 from the preverious month, which i paid using my debit card. this brought the balance down to 78.66, which we paid again a total of 80.00, so we r in credit. this months bill arrived and said we owe 2.71, impossible also we had a interactive service on there for 1.00 which we never have or never will use. anyway rang them up and they corrected the bill. just thought i would let you know to check your bills.

Re: Watch Your Bills
I have had interactive added to my bill - they say I purchased a film but I know I did not, this has happened on more than one occasion. Have changed to V+ since last time and hoped it would not happen again." On this occasion they will refund the money" but if it happens again I will have to pay. I know this was not booked or viewed in my property so how many others do they bully this charge on to????

Had this happen once just over a year ago. I have two boxes, so I asked them for the serial number of the box that ordered the film. The number they gave me did not match either of the boxes I had, so they relented and gave me a refund.

Re: Watch Your Bills
I have been chatting to a mate today he works for First Great Western and hes 58...
Last month he was billed wrongfully for 3 Adult movies £15 and it still hasnt been sorted.
On Wednesday he was telephoned at work by Virgin making him aware that he has run up so far this month a bill of £85 on Pay Per View Adult movies again. The times and dates that the movies were ordered have been while he is at work between Swansea and London Paddington and he lives alone.

Re: Watch Your Bills
Tell him to contact Virgin and get them to set a PIN that he doesn't know on his PPV/OD setup.
With a bit of luck the movies will still keep being purchased, and this will then show that it can't be him.

Re: Watch Your Bills
They've been trying to get £49 off me for a V+ box that was supposed to be free. Didn't work the first time because i phoned up and got it removed from the bill, so they added it to this months bill instead, along with a £10 late payment fee. Complained again and got both removed, and now they are trying to get around £100 off me for bills back in 2005/2006, at an old address. Funnily enough they can't supply me with bills from that period, they can only tell me I owe it. My bank statements show I've paid a lot more than they're claiming (and some additional payments were also made on my parents card, so aren't included).
It appears they are trying to get extra money out of customers by any means possible at the moment. About time they were investigated for it.

There's got to be a Welsh MP somewhere in this loop!

Well, if they can't prove the claim, there's no claim. End of. Doesn't stop them trying, I suppose, but they can't get anywhere.

Because payments are controlled by you, it is up to you to make sure the details are right.
Virgin publish the sort code and account number needed for those sorts of payments on the back of each bill if you get a paper bill and also here http://www.virginmedia.com/myvirginm...p#pay_ebilling

I have to agree with Ben here. When YOU decide to pay by Standing Order, you assume responsibility for the payment being correctly made each month.
With Direct Debit, it's Virgin Media's responsibility.
I'm not sure I understand why you can't use DD rather than Standing Order?

Re: Watch Your Bills
I do half agree but then there is the arguement if as the poster says VM changed the Sort code ( dunno if this actually happened) you could be forgiven for missing that could you not? Unless of course you check every month in which case a standing order is a waste of time and may as well make a transfer.
DD involves an element of trust in VM and I personally do not trust VM to get the bills right all the time ( had my fingers burnt before) and the hassle if a DD takes you account overdrawn or the hassle to invoke the DDG . For me its worth the fiver a month to keep my bank details off VMs system

Re: Watch Your Bills
If VM offer the facility to pay by standing order (by quoting the sort code/account number on bills), you'd think they would at least highlight that the details have changed. You can't really expect someone to check the details every month, just in case they have changed. (...and yes, I'm well aware that VM want everyone to pay by DD, but not everyone trusts them enough to do so),
