V+ box when already on XL tv?
Not trying to blag anything, have been looking at recent offers on the website, and have realised that what Hubby and I are paying for our services (m phone, L bb and XL tv) is about the same other people pay after all, but I have noticed that there is an offer to get the V+ box installed for £49 - an offer I can take if I keep my old set top box for an extra £5 a month - I don't want my old set top, if we get a V+ box, and certainly don't want to pay an extra £5 for the privilege.
We've had XL TV for some time now, and I wondered if anyone knew if I could still get the V+ box with the cheaper install, without having to keep my old set top box?

No if no additional stb is kept the price is meant to be £150 but most agents will charge £99

Re: V+ box when already on XL tv?
Thanks for the response, looks like I'll be keeping my V box for now then, because although I pursede hubby to fork out an extra £50, £100 might be pushing it...

VM were asking people to keep their old box when they were offering V+ @ £99
Like many other before you, just tell them you dont want it - and regarding you already being on XL - like beeman says, just asked to be treated equally in accordance with VM offers for all policy :

V+ pricing is not a bundle deal.

1. To be perdantic the web page is actually called " Offers for All" (where you bin )
2. Plain facts are the policy is selling "equality" and existing customer not being treated 'equally' - the message is very, very plain and clearly a response to pacify an otherwise aleinated customer base - it's about being treated fairly and for that reason i'm not sure why you find it nessesary to find loop holes in it

Yes it does but the text does clarify what offers it means and says 'bundle deals'

You point out the page, I point out the details and I do so for accuracies sake
For that reason I will also point out that the offer page for the V+ says:
V + Offer: V+ installation £49 when taken with TV: Size XL and £99 when taken with TV: Size M and L (usually £150). Available to all new Virgin TV customers (subject to status and credit checks). Offer also available to existing Virgin TV customers who keep their existing set-top box (at a cost of £5 a month) in addition to their V+ connection

Re: V+ box when already on XL tv?
Not sure why you thought it would support your case to post thatbecause it doesn't
It's just more evidence of VM on one hand 'claiming' to treat customers equally - and on the other hand - not treating them equally
Which in turn means more customers are going to be 'turned back at the gates' feeling agreived and unfairly treated (seems like every other post at the mo)
Which in turn means i am going to have to remind them, to remind VM of VM's very own 'claims' of equality
Which only then means VM have to "act" fairly
It's a disgrace

I'm not trying to build a case
I'm trying to accurately point out the wording used in the link you posted and compare that to wording posted elsewhere on Virgin's website
It is then up to the person who reads both to make up their own mind and argue their own case

Re: V+ box when already on XL tv?
And the £49 V+ offer is available to all - as long as existing customers keep their existing STB

Which means its NOT the same offer that new custmers are getting as new custmers can get the same without the extra £5 a month for the extra box.
so in affect new custmers pay £49 for there v+ box and existing custmers pay £109 (£49 for the box plus £60 for the 12months keeping the additional box even if it just sits in a cupboard)

Re: V+ box when already on XL tv?
I refer you back the section which says
(just bear in mind sometimes these deals require you to take an additional product)
which in the case of the V+ offer for existing customers would be the addtional STB
