Large B/B for 16 a month

Anyone tried to get 10meg B/B at the new price of £16/month?

I'm currently paying £25 and when I asked to have it reduced VM threatened to reduce/take away my loyalty pack (worth £19.46/month).

When I got the hump and asked to be transferred to retentions some guy there told me I cannot have two discounts on one bill – I replied the “new” £16/month 10meg B/B is not a discount it’s the new advertised price – he then baffled me with prices and told me how I was better off paying £25/month than £16 ????

I’m going to phone back tomorrow and reduce to 2meg at £9/month and while I’m at it might as well reduce my XL TV to a Large Pack at £9/month – let’s see where that leaves my loyalty pack – maybe I’m on the slippery slope to lot’s more HD channels?

Anyone got any suggestions on how to get the advertised price for 10meg without losing my loyalty pack?

Cancel your account, wait 30 days and sign up again as a new customer?

It's £16/month + £11 line rental anyway which works out at £27/month QED you would be better off with your current £25/month price. Without posting your bill itemisation anything else would be mere speculation.

Re: Large B/B for £16 a month

Even if you get the 'new £16' price, it still shows on your bill as £25.

Its

BB L £25
Phone £11
Discount -£8
E-bill Discount -£1

Total £27

So you are on a better discount now that you would be if you swapped

AFAIK, the discount you are on means you can drop to 20.49 for TV M, BB M, Talk Unlimited, Talk International and Mobile

---------- Post added at 01:55 ---------- Previous post was at 01:54 ----------

P.S The option for TV services on that bundle has been withdrawn for anyone offered it now

I'm already paying £11/month for the phone line rental - so with the standard 10 meg BB and XL TV this makes £58/month less £20.46 (loyalty and £1 for E discount) - so all in all I am currently paying about £37.50

This sounds about right - guy from VM told me something about TV services have now been withdrawn from this BB package - but I'm still thinking about getting SKY HD - It's not just about the money I'm fed up getting mugged off by VM but don't think Murdoch is much better - but he does have HD channels

Broadband L + Phone M + TV XL = £44/month for a new customer. So you're currently on a pretty good deal.

Made the jump - £29/month for SkyHD (up to 35 HD channels by christmas) free intall but £75 to "buy" the box.

This leaves me with 10meg B/B, Phone Line (essential for SkyHD) and talk unlimited with virgin for £27.50/month. - Pick and Mix - glad I made the leap.

It's not without regrets - I think cable is a better hardware and service - however without HD TV it will become an excellent B/B provider.

Looking forward to FreeSat HD with a hard drive - it's the future - wake up Virgin you have just lost another good customer

Pretty much irrelevant to the rest of the thread but they're re-added the option for free tv again now! lol
