That sounded harsh..didn't mean to!
well after various phone calls to VM they'v now removed the charges again, as was the agreement after they ripped me off.

Re: payment handling charge

At least they give you the option. Companies like TalkTalk, be broadband and others will only allow payment via Direct Debit (or Debit/Credit Card). No bank account, no service

It shouldn't have taken a year to get your money back. The banks can reverse the payment in seconds. I know because I had to do it after VM charged me twice in 2 weeks after the billing system merge.

Trying to convince CS that the money shouldn't have been taken in the first place, well thats a different matter!

Re: payment handling charge

I'm with the OP. Telewest/NTL/Virgin have proved to me on more than one or two occasions that they art incapable of charging the correct amount to DD.

For this reason and this reason alone I'll take the non-DD fee (which is BS when you pay online IMHO) for the privilege of being able to check and query my bill before they tray and take money from me.

Once they take your money, no matter what the DD guarantee is, it's a struggle and pain to get it back and get your bill corrected. So I pay the fee and if there's a problem with my bill I argue with Virgin before I pay them. I also find then much more responsive when they don't already have my money.

i agree i mean if i just didnt want to pay by DD then that would be a different matter, but for them to change me for their mistake is wrong. also they cant justify removing this discount just because i moved house.
