payment handling charge

i have not long moved house & cuz of a massive cock up on VM's part iv not had to pay the payment handling charge. however now they'v whacked it back on without even telling me until my bill just arrived. after being on the phone to them just they refuse to remove the charge unless i agree to pay by DD which i wont as NTL, Telewest & VM all cocked it up in the past. i feel that its unfair that i have to pay £5 p/m for their mistakes. iv gotten this discount for well over a year & now cuz iv moved house they removed it as they did with another discount, however they have reinstated the other discount but wont with the payment handling charge. is there owt that i can do about this or ? as im not happy with paying this charge. i asked to speak to their manager & they hung up on me . . . great customer service there VM

Re: payment handling charge

You do know that the £5 handling charge is rising to £6 per month?

There is not a thing you can do about this charge I have tried.I now pay by DD.However you can instruct your bank on what not to do and what to do with DD payments.

There maybe a way to stop this charge, not sure though.

You can now do online banking and pay bills that way.I would check with VM if the charge is still put on your bill if you pay via online banking.Or if you pay via check.

No, the only way to stop it is to pay by DD.
It still applys if you pay for inet banking, pay by CC via ebilling, pay by CC over the phone, or a recurring CC payment

Have a moan to customer relations, and they might drop your bill by that amount

Even Customer Relations cannot remove the charge completely.

Depending on the combination you may get on a Customer Relations bundle that is £5 less.

If however you are already on a CR bundle, they will not remove the charge in full

Re: payment handling charge

As with anything else, if you are on an valid offer and it is withdrawn from sale, you would probably be allowed to stay on it.

If however you move house, you can only take up those offers which are still around

Strange...VM don't do lifetime offers...All bundles are ongoing offers.

VM also, as a rule, don't offer favouritism to any customers - if you don't pay by DD you should pay the charge just like everyone else does.

That sounded harsh..didn't mean to!

The £5 charge has not increased, though. Check VM website...still states add £5 respectively if you do not pay by DD...also the charge is still £5 on the bill.

Are you sure you're not just paying £1 too much every month? lol
