V+ Service Fee
Hi All!
I joined a few weeks go when I ordered Virgin services for my new house, its all installed and working fine but I have a billing question!
I have my first bill (online), and looking at it there is a £75 "V+ Box Install" item which is correct as it is under the half price installation offer that is being ran.
However, I also have an item titled "V+ Service Fee" which is £100. I wasnt aware of this when signing up, and I cannot find much about this. Does anybody know what this is for and if it is normal to see this?
Many thanks,
Paul

Re: V+ Service Fee
You should not have been charged both.
If you are a new customer to the V+, you should only have to pay £75 and then either £5 (if you have M or L tv) or £0 per month (if you have XL tv)
The £100 service fee is for those customers who have had a V+ box since before June 2007, who would have paid different prices (£15 per month on M/L or £10 on XL). It 'converts' this pricing to the current ones. As shown here http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...rs/v_plus.html

Re: V+ Service Fee
Why are loyal customers (pre June 2007) being penalised?
Prejudice never leads to success - ergo neither does "new customers only" policy - hence the mickey taking adverts

Re: V+ Service Fee
seems to me that VM dont care about their loyal customers, only new ones.

They are not.
The service fee was brough in the V+ fee was £150. so it was £50 cheaper for an existing customer than a new customer to get on the reduced pricing
Quite a lot of V+ customers who got it before June 2007 never paid anything for installation or paid £25
Also the V+ service fee would pay for itself in 10 months or less, as if you don't pay it you remain on the pricing structure you took out, which as I said, could be either £10 or £15 per month for the V+ subscription
The old pricing structure was designed by Telewest when they launched the TVDrive.

Re: V+ Service Fee
Thanks for the replies everybody! I have the TV Size L package at the moment, and from what I remember the prices when I ordered included the V+ service.
I will give them a call shortly and hopefully be able to speak to somebody who has a clue!
Cheers,
Paul

Stop with the flannel - someone might accidently think you've addressed the question (appeased existing customers) - I'll simplify the question - Why are loyal customers (pre June 2007) being charged more than new ones for V+??
Answer - cuz VM don't give a monkeys about existing customers - new customers only
.

They're not. The price structure changed.
And I don't see why you put Ben's post as excuses, as he's simply stating facts. Seems like you don't want to listen tbh.

which bit about "theyre paying £10 or £15" a month and to get on the new pricing of "£5 or £0" a month didnt you understand, mind you i dont think £100 is fair £75 if you paid nothing for the install and £50 if you paid £25 would seam fairer given this discount thats now been around for 6 months

because they are - it's a total smoke screen

here's another fact - a ferrari is faster than a mondeo - it just doesn't explain why loyal customers pay more that new customers only - see how this smoke screen works now?

i understood it - it just doesn't explain why loyal customers pay more that new customers only - It merely suggests they don't - but they actually do - hence it's just B.S. - i was in sales for many years so i know what it smells like

= loyal customers can take a hike = VM might change the price again = anyone who already paid £75 will be of no concern either = be careful not to commit to VM = once you're bagged you're of no consideration
good - at least that's all the clap-trap out the way - we all know where we stand

Yes they might. As might every other company that ever existed.
Your point is?
