of course - so she £10 disc short - good for her - so what you bother with all other maths for??? simple - you're trying to justify your sums which still don't stack up
1st V box = £0 + 2nd V+ = £15 - £10 disc = £5
1st V+ = £5 + 2nd V box = £15 - £10 disc = £10
do you still not get the way VM conveniently consider the V Box = second box?
it's like buying a steak for £5 and adding chips for £1 and the bill comes to £10 because the bistro charge fixed £5 for 2nd item (happens to be chips) - what would you say to that?????????????
If you had any wits you would say - then i'll buy the chips first for £1 and the steak second for the £5 = £6
I actually bought 3 meals in a resteraunt (£12 + £12 + £8) and handed in buy-one-get-one-free ticket - the cashier (obviously ex VM employer) only discounted me £8 because her: it's the cheapest meal comes free' - me: yeah but i bought 3 and the £8 is extra, and not involved - her: well i've rung it in now - me: well you can unring it in and i'll pay for 2 x £12 and i get one free - now ring in £8 seperate struth

No it is not

1st V box = £0 + 2nd V+ = £15 - £10 disc = £5
|
It is 1st V box = £0 + 2nd V+ = £15 - £10 discount + £5 V+ service fee = £10 extra, for the two boxes it is £10 per month
This would be shown on the bill as:
TV L £11.50
V+ service £5
Additional Box Rental £15
Additional Box Discount -£10
and
V+ box = £0 + £5 V+ service fee + 2nd V box = £15 - £10 discount = £5 extra, but for the two boxes it is £10 per month
This would be shown on the bill as:
TV L £11.50
V+ service £5
Additional Box Rental £15
Additional Box Discount -£10

I'll try make it easy -supose Tesco charge £100 for every second item (no matter what)- you want to buy a mobile phone @ £100 and a pack of gum @ 40p
given the choice, which item would you choose to be first item and which item would you choose to be the second item????? I would really like to know
stay tuned for retailers (and VM's) answer to the same question - in case you can't guess

Re: Buy V+ box, get charged for V box too!
Well, this turning into an interesting debate! I originally was being charged £5 for the V+ box and £15 for the V box. When rang to complain, I had the £15 V box charge reduced to £9.50 (which, interestingly, is the price quoted on the website for an extra box so I wonder why they charge it at £15 unless they can then sound impressive by discounting it for those who complain - or am I just being cynical). So, originally I was going to be paying an extra £20 on my bill due to the V+ installation but now it's £14.50. My subsequent email complaint was responded to saying that I had been correctly charged for my services.
BenMcr, are you saying that actually I should only be paying a total of £10 for both boxes? Where did you get this information from? I am only on the very basic M tv, phone and broadband package.

If you are on the Basic M TV package then your bill is correct.
You get charged £5 for the V+ box and £9.50 for the standard V Box

No you flipping don't.
If you don't have a V+ any additional boxes are £9.50
When you DO have a V+ any additional boxes are £5

Ben, This is a common phenomenon on this type of forum. There are simply people on here who cannot or don't want to understand, even when people like yourself respond clearly and on several occasions.

Re: Buy V+ box, get charged for V box too!
I had one little problem - When my V+ was installed, the engineer took the V box for some reason and I was getting charged £30 a month more for the V - rang up CS - the women was *very very* rude generally a stuck up old git, you know the type. ANywho I was so annoyed I said, I wanted to speak the department to cancel, a very very very nice women came on the phone and said, I understand you wish to cancel, I said correct. She said, what can I do for you to sort this out? I asked just sort the problems she did. Turned out there was loads of other things they had charged me for - I.e they charged me £63 for a partial 20MB service 3 weeks before I had it, I got just short of £150 discount including all the problems I had to start with.

Sounds right, that's what I get charged for my V+ and V box and what my dad gets charged for his 2 V boxes.

Well, that sounds great but I am on a promotional two for £20 bundle so I assumed that the extra discount wouldn't apply.

Re: Buy V+ box, get charged for V box too!
Well, I rang Virgin and they said that my information is incorrect and I've already had a £5 discount on my bill (taking the rental down to £9.50 for the second box instead of £15 which was my initial charge) so I still have to pay £14.50 for the two boxes. Grrr, again!
Apparently it's a £5 V+ box charge, £5 V box charge + £5 extra outlet charge = £15.

See they've conveniently put the V box second otherwise it would be
£0 V box charge, £5 V+ box charge + £5 extra outlet charge = £10
