I was actually trying to move past the argument over the definition of a single word, and back onto the topic.
I agree that my choice of words may have not been the best.
However in the end it is neither here nor there.
The difference between an offer than doesn't expire and one that expires so far in the future to not matter is exactly zero.

Re: Not a lifetime offer
I got a lifetime deal from the GPO in 1961 and still only pay 2/6d line rental.
That's the reality of what literally taking lifetime to mean lifetime would mean.

as soon as you post up the examples of the current 'lifetime' deals, I'll be happy to comply.
Unfortunately, rightly or wrongly, it is the VM interpretation of the words that apply to VM services, being pedantic about semantics will not change the reality of that situation.
The thing is JethroUK, all I have been doing is taking an apposite stance to your pedantry by replacing it with some of my own - I have no real interest in devolving all discussions down to interpretation of one or two words in any statements from Virgin Media - not when it won't change what is actually happening, but hey, you kept biting .....

wrong in this case - we haven't been discussing VM in any way, shape or form for quite some time - so that's why you will always be wrong about this - you really need to read the thread before you post

your whole and entire contribution to this thread has been a futile and unsuccessful attempt to disprove this rock solid fact
it has obviously just dawned

P.S. My last response to you as i think it's unfair to the OP

No, my entire contribution to this thread has been to wind you up, because you won't accept that no matter how you interpret the phraseology, there are no 'indefinite' deals offered by Virgin Media - no matter how many times you put 'fact' after your statements.
Arguing about what words mean does not change reality and by playing devils advocate I was trying to point that out, unfortunately you have been too bogged down in trying to prove me wrong to appreciate that.
BenMcr stated way back in the thread that no-one in VM was authorised to offer 'indefinite' deals, and none now exist - what the dictionary definitions of the words are is meaningless in that scenario, but you have had your irony detector turned off, unfortunately.
I agree this is circular & will also cease to discuss this point, my tongue was getting tired being stuck in my cheek all the time, anyway

Anyone ever race another car down the road - and the moment they realise you beat them - they pretend like they weren't racing after all
crops up time & time again in life

I'm afraid because Jethro can't bash VM alone for this he won't be pursuing this issue with the same vigour. Shame.

VM cannot even keep their promises with 12 month deals, so you must be right
By the way, the definition of a word is the same for everyone.
Say I stand accused of the murder of somebody.
" No sir, I did not murder them, I expired their life "
By vm standards I should get off with it.
