I thought it was any bill with a giro slip that you had to pay a £2+ fee, either at a post office or if you want to pay it at a bank that you're not a customer of.

Re: Virgin Media bill & The Post Office.

Wow, how quickly the price rises. The last time I paid a bill with a giro slip it cost 95p extra. Thank god for paypoint.

I just use direct debits - saves queuing at the Post Office...

djmagnifique is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Virgin Media bill & The Post Office.

some giro slips have 'no fee payable at post office' or words to that effect printed on then, if it doesn't state this then a fee will be charged.

best thing to do if paying by giro slip is to pay at your own bank, most banks (if not all) won't charge a fee for paying on a giro slip if yuo have an account with them.

Or use a paypoint as previosly mentioned.

Re: Virgin Media bill & The Post Office.

Yup

Virgin print a Paypoint barcode on every bill they send out. They used to issue Paypoint cards but everyone kept misplacing them
