More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
Just had a letter from VM telling me the price for our services is going up by £2 a month. Not a great amount, but as we don't have any of the services in the CF article I was somewhat surprised.
Seems that BB L is going up to £26 and TV L is going up to £12.50.
Edit: And for those on the Hayes UBR, there was potentially a slip of the tongue from the CS rep - he referred to the 10 meg upgrades but when I mentioned Hayes is still marked as TBC he said we might have to wait for "a long.. little while".
Can't complain though - he was very helpful on the e-billing discount we've never yet received and backdated it appropriately so thank you to him for that.

No and No
You may however have an old ex-ntl bundle (pre Feb 2007) and all those are going up £2

I think it's safe to say that you ignore CS when it comes to upgrades.

We're in an ex-TW area and are on the 2 for £20 bundle they ran for a short period after the VM rebranding completed (TW never only ever ran the penalising Solus option if you didn't take the phone if I remember rightly).
Does the same apply to them?

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
Hmm it seems it does as they are counting it as an 'legacy' bundle
The current version of the offer, 2 for £25, is only going up by £1

That sounds more accurate than the CS guy said. That said, how will it show on the bill? I'm assuming it'll show up as a £7.50 bundle discount instead of £9.50. Instead of the £26 and £12.50 the CS guy said.

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
That would be right. Apart from XL tv which IS increasing by £1.50 (so would show as £22 instead of £20.50 when you have a phone/broadband or £26.50 instead of £25 when it is on it's own), the bundles are being increased by decreasing the discount.

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
Ben, This seems to be more complicated than at first it seemed.
I am on the 'old' BB and TV bundle, 2 for £20, which, of course is no longer available as it has become the 2 for £25.
I have this upgraded to TV XL and BB L, making a total of £20 + £9 + £7 = £36.
Let's ignore ebilling as I have another issue about this currently being investigate by Virgin Media.
I have, up until now, thought that my increase would be £1 for the bundle and £1.50 for TV XL as it is 'outwith' the bundle, making a £2.50 increase.
I have today received my 'increase letter'. It says my increase is to be £2.
Being less than what I thought, I'm happy but I wonder how accurate these letters are and how binding on Virgin Media they are?
If my bill is different than £36 + £2 = £38 then presumeably Virgin Media's own letter to me is a written contract to provide my current services at the advised price.
I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
I am trying to get the 2 for £20 specifically clarified because there are about 3/4 different versions of it.
TBH until I get a proper answer (which I shall post here as soon as I do), I couldn't say how accurate the letters are

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
Got it confirmed today.
The 2 for £20 is going up by £2 as it is not a current bundle. So if you are also paying for XL tv your total price rise is going to be £3.50 (or £2.50 if you sign up to e-billing)

So my letter is incorrect if it states my increase is £2 and not £3.50 as I have TV XL as well as an old 2 for £20. Is the letter binding?
The website does not mention this £2 increase for certain 'old' packages so it is also wrong.
Very confusing!

Re: More prices rises (not those CF have reported)
So people on the old 2 for £20 TV+BB bundle will be going up to £22.
People on the new 2 for £25 TV+BB bundle will be going up to £26.
So the old customers are still £4 per month better off, yes?

But the website also doesn't mention the price changes to the Customer Relations bundles or the Customer Care bundles, but all customers will get a letter.
As for binding, I don't know. As the 12 month contract will have expired, and it is now just a rolling 30 day one, I don't think it would be.
